Our petroleum spectrometer, equipped with the All Glass Heated Inlet System (AGHIS), is purpose-built for accurate petroleum analysis in line with ASTM standards. This system vaporizes the entire sample and ensures a steady flow into the mass spectrometer, while the glass sample container prevents decomposition by avoiding contact with reactive surfaces.
While gas chromatography (GC) is commonly used for oil fraction analysis, it often falls short in delivering precise composition data for complex oil samples. Our high-resolution mass spectrometer, operating at >5000 resolution (10% valley definition), captures the full spectrum and processes the data with specialized oil analysis software for highly accurate composition determination.
To meet the strict quality standards for petroleum analysis, our system begins with a standard mixture test to validate optimal instrument performance. The fully automated AGHIS system then enables continuous, operator-free sample processing, accommodating multiple samples with extended run times for comprehensive analysis.
Our AGHIS system provides two options for sample introduction: direct injection into AGHIS or loading into a glass sample cup, with automatic control of the glass valves to manage sample entry.
In addition to AGHIS, our petroleum spectrometer can be configured with gas chromatography (GC) and a high-temperature probe system, along with optional Field Desorption/Field Ionisation (FD/FI) and Fast Atom Bombardment (FAB) techniques for expanded analytical capabilities.
